We are currently three weeks into the independent projects, Halfway there. If you don’t remember, I am doing a series of six acrylic paintings of my favorite characters in the new Chinese adventure game, Genshin Impact. I currently have three out of the six done and am kind of ahead of schedule. This project has shown me just how fast and truly I can paint under stress and a deadline. It has been a little stressful and made me want to stop a few times already. But we keep going! One step at a time.
I have run into some problems throughout this project. Mostly related to skin tone and color matching. When you look at the paintings you see colors that go well together, but it did not start that way, the amount of times I have remixed and done the color of their skin tones is endless. Because each character has a different color pallet, means that I also had to try and make them kind of unified. My way of doing this so far has been to do watercolor backgrounds that are simpler but in different colors. My techniques and way of painting are quite average as well. I do most of my blending when the paint is still wet, but sometimes I run out of time and it dryes on me. Those are the kinds of problems I have well doing this project.
